Soft Skills Training for CLC Managers in Cambodia

The DVV country office invited CLC managers from 7 provinces and other affiliated professionals for a training on using soft skills in non-formal education

On 27th and 28th June 2018, 34 participants came to Kampong Chhnang province to join the training on “Using Soft Skills in Non-Formal Education” based on the Training Manual for Facilitators by PRIA and the corresponding Resource Package of Using Soft Skills in Non-Formal Education which was developed by Dr. Walter Baeten in cooperation with SEAMEO CELLL and DVV International.

For this event, DVV International Cambodia invited 8 co-facilitators from its partner organisations that have already been trained in a workshop in Siem Reap in October 2017. With the aim of improving the working environment and daily life of communities, while preserving local culture, traditions and the neighbouring environment, the co-facilitators arrived a day early to prepare the sessions on two selected topics: Understanding interpersonal communication and understanding communication and conflict in teams.

All in all, the training has been a great place for sharing experiences and knowledge:

“I have never attended a training since I started my work at the CLC many years ago. I have never received such a useful training that offers me support in my daily work as well as my daily life. Unfortunately, the length of the training is too short and I would like to suggest that DVV International should provide this training for a longer time and  eventually to all 351 CLCs in Cambodia.” - Ms Hoy Sovanny, member a CLC in Battambang province.
