Transforming Community Learning Centres (CLCs) into Lifelong Learning Centres (LLCs)

CLC have played an important part within the non-formal education system by providing education opportunities to people in rural areas and at grassroots level. Under the newly approved LLL Policy, Cambodia goes a step forward and is, with support of DVV International, now in the process of transforming CLCs into LLLCs. These LLLCs are educational institutions or learning venues at village level with the main aim of developing the village`s human resources and its community, by providing lifelong learning opportunities to all people in the community. LLCs are initiated and managed by the village communities themselves to serve community’s interests through local resource mobilization and as a platform for community interaction and participation in social, economic and cultural activities for sustainable community development.
