Handing-over Ceremony for Office Equipments, Calendar and Diary 2016 to the Department of Non-formal EducationSharing and Learning Workshop on “Education for Sustainable Development and Lifelong Learning for All”

Monday, 25 January 2016, 10 a.m. a Handing-Over ceremony will take place in the premises of DVV International regional Office. On that occasion, a motorbike, laptop and LCD projector will be given to the Department of Non-Formal Education of the Ministry of Education and Sports. The equipment is targeted for the Provincial Education Service in the recently new established Xaisomboun province. On that occasion, 2,500 calendars and 5,000 Diaries will be handed over to the DNFE as well, promoting the ideas of Lifelong Learning and Education for Sustainable Development.

“Education for sustainable development and lifelong learning for all” is a theme of the Calendar and the diary for this year. And in the calendar also provided education quote from difference source, especially from Education Sector Development Plan 2016-2020 “Create opportunities for all Lao people to have equitable access to quality education so all Lao people are disciplined brave, qualified and professional in self and nation and with reduced disparities between urban and rural areas”

The Handing-over will be attended by HE Vice-Minsiter Lytou Bouapao, German Ambassador Mr Michael Grau, Director General of DNFE Dr. Ka Saleumsouk and the Head of DVV International Regional Office, Mr Uwe Gartenschlaeger.

In the afternoon of the same day, a Sharing and Learning event will bring together some 25 experts in non-formal education from Lao PDR. The event will provide the opportunity for informal exchange about recent developments in Lifelong Learning in Lao PDR and the region. Three presentations will be given:

·         “ Transforming Education and Training Systems to Create Lifelong Learning Societies in the Asia-Pacific”, lessons learnt from an expert workshop at UNESCO Bangkok, Uwe Gartenschlaeger, Regional Director DVV International

·         “ CLC development in Cambodia”, report from a study visit, Dokkham  Xomsihapanya, Project Manager, DVV International

·         “Lifelong Learning for Human Security”, conference report, Dalouny Sisourath, Communication Officer, DVV International
