On 2 September, a Handing Over ceremony took place at the premises of the Department for Non-Formal Education (DNFE) of the Ministry for Education and Sports. DVV International’s regional Director Mr Uwe Gartenschlaeger had the honor to present Polo- and T-shirts for the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the International Literacy Day. This year’s slogan “Literacy and Sustainable Societies” stresses the importance of literate citizens for the development of countries and societies. At the occasion, Dr Ka Saleumsouk, Director General of the DNFE stressed the importance of a further development of non-formal education and Laos PDR and the development of an ambitious and consistent Lifelong Learning policy. DVV International is committed to support the Departments in these efforts.
