As a part of our persistent effort to promote the Non-Formal sector in LAO PDR, we have successfully established numerous CLCs in Nong and Sepone districts in two years’ time. With the objective of providing resources such as publications with information, mic and speakers, sports and musical instruments to encourage active participation and learning atmosphere in the CLCs, a handing over program was organized to the CLCs of both districts from 10th -12th March 2016. The materials were handed over to the CLC leaders in the presence of government representatives with the promise to use them wisely. The CLCs have indeed brought the communities together and is now acting as a platform for interaction, discourses, information dissemination and learning. While bringing change is a challenging task, the CLCs with its life skill trainings and literacy classes, especially in the closed communities of ethnic minorities, now play pivotal role in empowering individuals and promoting community development through life-long education for all people in the community.
