As a follow-up of the kick-off event in December 2015, the Department of Non-formal Education (DNFE), Non-formal Education Development Center, Ministry of Education and Sports with the cooperation with DVV International and our facilitators from ASPBAE, India, RMIT University, Australia and UNESCO Bangkok jointly organized the Training for Master Trainers for Non-formal Education focusing on Module 2 from the Curriculum globALE this time. This module focuses on learning theories and gives an insight into the learning process itself. Moreover, it deals with adult education theories, perception and functioning of adult education.

Curriculum globALE (CG) is a cross-cultural core curriculum for the training of adult educators worldwide. It was developed jointly by the German Institute for Adult Education (DIE) and DVV International, the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association. In five modules, it describes the relevant skills needed to lead successful courses and provides guidance on their practical implementation.

The objective of the project is to train a group of 32 Master trainers of Youth and Adult Education, who will be able to provide Training of Trainers in all relevant sectors of the Lao Non-Formal Education (NFE) system. The trainers will be available to upskill NFE teachers at the provincial, district and village level, using a simple model to multiply the skills of the master trainers, who constitute majority staff of various NFE structures like national and regional NFE Development Centers. The project started in December 2015 and goes on until December 2017.

The participants are from the Non-formal Education sector in provinces, Vientiane Capital, Non-formal Education Development Centers, Department of Non-formal Education, Vocational Education Development Institute, Lao Women’s Union, Lao Youth Union, Non-profit Association and DVV International.
